Winter market success

Chantelle Deacon

Hundreds showed up to the first annual Winter Artisan Market held at Predator Ridge Resort.

The event took place throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.

"Predator Ridge teamed up with Craft Culture to showcase some local vendors," said Carmen Lindsay, recreation and lifestyle director at Predator Ridge. "We're really excited to have people come up to Predator during the winter time and have local artists showcase their pieces for the community and for Vernon."

The event featured 32 craft and artisan vendors, live music, outdoor fire pits and a variety of food options.

"It's been great," Lindsay said. "I was crossing my fingers yesterday as I was driving here because it was getting pretty 'wintery' but yesterday was a complete success and the vendors were really happy."

"Hopefully, the vendors had a successful event and we hope to make it bigger next year maybe even do something similar for the summertime," she said.

The by donation market raised money that will go towards the Okanagan Rail Trail Initiative.
