Theatre and justice unite

A live criminal trial and a community justice forum are coming to Vernon in the form of a theatre production Feb. 28.

The Restorative Justice Society – North Okanagan is hosting “An Evening of Justice & Theatre” on Feb. 28 at the Schubert Centre.

Restorative justice is a community-based service that provides an alternative approach for dealing with crime.

An Evening of Justice & Theatre is meant to bring greater understanding of the restorative justice work that is being done within the North Okanagan.

The theatre will be put on by the People’s Law School’s Justice Theatre Troupe.

The theatre group stages interactive theatre performances in classrooms and community settings around the province, featuring legal issues relevant to the everyday lives of students and those with unique legal needs.

Doors open for the event at 5 p.m. and the performance begins at 6 p.m.
