Exchange program in Lumby

The province is expanding its woodstove program in Coldstream to include Lumby and Rural Lumby.

Under the banner Coldstream/Lavington/Lumby Woodstove Exchange Program, a $250 rebate is available for upgrading from an old wood burning stove, insert or furnace to a new certified wood-burning appliance.

"A $400 rebate is available if you exchange your old uncertified wood-burning appliance for a new cleaner burning appliances such as a gas or propane stove, an electric heat pump or a pellet stove."

Rebates are limited, but Coldstream residents are eligible to receive up to $950 in potential savings.

Thanks to funding from the BC Government in partnership with the BC Lung Association,

New certified wood-burning appliances burn one third less wood, reduce smoke and particulates by up to 90 per cent and significantly reduce the risk of chimney fires.

The province teamed up with the BC LungAssociation for the exchange program.
