Posh party pulled off

More than 300 parka'd-up-people participated in the Predator Ridge Parka Party Thursday night.

It was the first time the resort has participated in the Vernon Winter Carnival.

"We came up with the idea of a winter food and wine festival and tying it in with the Vernon Winter Carnival only made perfect sense."

Trevor Jones is the food and beverage manager at Predator Ridge Resort.

The event was a food and wine lover's paradise.

Several wine vendors were on hand to pair wines with the culinary delights created by the resort, which included roasted pig, pulled chicken risotto, braised short ribs, and a fully loaded seafood bar.

"As we see more and more people moving to this community, we see that there is an appetite for this kind of event."

The Vernon Winter Carnival is one of the largest winter carnivals in Canada.

"Predator Ridge is becoming a bigger part of Vernon, and we were really excited to participate," explained Jones.

Without tipping his hand too much, Jones says that the resort will be hosting more events like the parka party in the future.

"It's not just the Predator Ridge community, it's the Vernon community; these are communities with very deep roots and very strong sense of community to see them come together in what we are all about here at Predator Ridge."
