Snowfall warning issued

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Shuswap, with about 15 to 20 centimetres expected to fall today.

A Pacific frontal system will make its way through B.C.'s Interior today resulting in widespread snow.

The snow is already falling around much of the Okanagan and isn't expected to ease until this evening.

The flurries are expected to change to rain this afternoon for the most of the Okanagan Valley, with temperatures sitting at about zero degrees Celsius (0 C).

Environment Canada reminds the public to be extra cautious on the roadways.

People are urged to continue watching for weather alerts and forecasts. Severe weather can be reported by email or by tweet using the hashtag #BCStorm.
