Dress for parade weather

There's a chance those attending the Vernon Winter Carnival parade Saturday may get a little wet, but they will not be too cold.

According to Environment Canada, there is a 40 per cent chance of showers during the day, but highs are expected to be 6C.

The parade begins at noon and thousands of people are expected to attend, as inclement weather has not kept crowds away in the past.

Last year, the parade route was lined with people as snow fell and temperatures dropped below zero.

People are advised to dress for conditions as it is a 'winter' carnival.

For evening carnival events, the likelihood of flurries or showers jumps to 70 per cent.

On Sunday, weather forecasters are calling for periods of rain throughout the day.
