Who will be crowned?

It's that time of year again when Vernon crowns its very own queen.

Castanet decided to put this year's candidates to a test.

The young women were taken away individually and asked one question.

Why would you make an amazing Queen Silver Star the 58th?

"I think I'd make an amazing Queen Silver Star the 58th because I can show people to be kind and respectful of others no matter how different they are," said candidate Jennifer Blake, Pleasant Valley Secondary School.

"I'd be a good Queen Silver Star because I'm fun, bubbly and I love people," said candidate Georgia Currie, Charles Bloom Secondary School. "I'm going to miss the girls a lot, this is a really great experience and I'm glad I got to be apart of it."

"I think I would make an amazing Queen Silver Star because I put smiles on everyone's face," said candidate Saira Abid, Clarence Fulton Secondary.

"I think I would make an amazing Queen Silver Star the 58th because I'm selfless and I enjoy hanging around other people," said candidate Bridgette Peterson, Clarence Fulton Secondary.

"I would make an amazing Queen Silver Star the 58th because I walk with self-respect and poise," said candidate Angitha Mriduraj, Clarence Fulton Secondary.

"I have tried my very hardest and I think I've put my best foot forward," said candidate Mackenzie Kuziw, Vernon Secondary School. "If I didn't win it wouldn't be a big deal, I would be very happy
