Heavy snow forecast

Environment Canada has issued a heavy snowfall warning for the North Okanagan, Shuswap, Columbia's and North Thompson for today.  The bulletin issued early Sunday indicates a long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Heavy snow beginning Sunday morning with a Pacific frontal system moving across the BC Interior today producing heavy snowfall over the Columbia's, North Okanagan, and Shuswap. as the front stalls tonight, heavy snow will continue over the Columbia's and Shuswap while lesser accumulations can be expected over North Okanagan. total snowfall amount of 10 to 15 cm is expected over North Okanagan by tonight. for the Columbia's and Shuswap region, 15 to 30 cm of snow can be expected by Monday.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
