Suzy Shier closing in Vernon

A popular clothing store in Vernon is closing. 

The Suzy Shier woman's clothing will be wrapping up sales in the Villiage Green Centre on Feb. 25. 

The manager, Celeste Zarr, posted on Facebook the closing was not related to sales.

"It has nothing to do with our sales or the business of the store! We were doing fantastic in sales."

Zarr explained she didn't know why the store was closing, but had heard rumours that another franchise wanted that location and offered the Villiage Green Mall more money. 

"The sales have ALWAYS been good. My sales are still the same as all Suzy Shiers' across Canada."

There have been several messages of support for Zarr, who posted she has been a "crying mess" all day.

One person posted "You have such a great team of girls Celeste Zarr, I’ll be sad to see you ladies go."

While another posted, "That's terrible it is closing when it's been doing well! So sad!"

Most of the customers who shop at the women's clothing store in Vernon know Zarr as the friendly face behind the fashion.

It is rumoured that the Boathouse clothing store will be moving into the Suzy Shier space. 

Castanet has contacted the Villiage Green Centre, but was told that a spokesperson was unavailable to comment at this time.
