The driver of a pick-up truck is lucky to have sustained minor injuries after colliding head on with a dump truck.
The accident happened at 12:40 p.m. Thursday at Commonage and Bailey roads.
Glenn Braithwaite, with the BC Ambulance Service, said the male driver was extricated from the pick-up truck and treated at the scene for minor injuries before being transported to Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Crews from the Vernon Fire Department are using the Jaws of Life to remove an occupant from a vehicle involved in a two-vehicle crash on Commonage Road south of Vernon.
According to one witness, the crash happened about a kilometre from Predator Ridge Golf Course.
The incident involved a Ford pick-up truck and a gravel truck.
No word on the extent of injuries.
