Masters citizen of the year

Cindy Masters is the 2017 JCI Good Citizen of the Year.

Masters, who is the development officer for Kindale Developmental Association, was nominated by Theresa Beach.

Beach wrote and extensive list of all the activities outside of Kindale Masters is involved with.

They include: Funtastic director, Vernon Vipers Boosters Club, Vernon Toastmasters, 100+ Women Who Care, IPE volunteer and she attends so many community fundraising events including United Way Drive-thru Breakfast, Valentine’s for Mexico, JCI Vernon Gala, Women’s Transition House Fundraisers and A Night to remember Dance for Alzheimers.

“Just in this past year, Cindy volunteered endlessly with sandbagging during the floods, attended a birthday party for a young man she didn’t know to make sure he knew people cared, helped struggling families have the Christmas they deserve and coming to the aid of friends in all and any way she can to support them during hard times,” wrote Beach.

Masters will be honoured in the Vernon Winter Carnival Parade on Feb. 3 and at the Vernon Winter Carnival Winter Break Out at Schubert Centre on Feb. 7.
