An elderly man had to be extracted from his vehicle after a two-vehicle collision in Salmon Arm Monday.
RCMP state that a police officer came across the vehicle incident on Highway 97B in the 2500 block and found the man trapped.
The crash happened as a result of a Ford pickup truck turning across the southbound lanes colliding with a Jeep.
The Rescue Unit assisted by the Salmon Arm Fire Department cut the 77-year-old driver who was the sole occupant of the Ford out of the vehicle.
The man suffered non-life threating injuries but was transported to Shuswap Lakes General Hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the Jeep, a 26-year-old female from Salmon Arm, suffered minor injuries and went home after providing a statement to investigators at the scene.
The matter remains under investigation.
