The 58th annual Vernon Winter Carnival is just around the corner and time is running out to get a float into the popular parade.
The parade attracts thousands of people every year and anyone hoping to take part must register by Friday, Jan. 12.
The parade is held on Feb. 3 and kicks off the 10-day long festivity.
“We have about 60 people who have already registered, 60 businesses and organizations, but usually we see around 100 so we are expecting a lot more entries to come in,” said Vicki Proulx, executive co-ordinator, Vernon Winter Carnival at public meeting with the board of directors Tuesday.
The theme of this year's event is Carnival in Wonderland.
Four events are already sold out, but there are numerous other events to attend, including 14 new activities.
There are also 50 free events at carnival, which runs from Feb. 2-11 this year.
