It's a dog's life at the Star

It was a dog's life at SilverStar Mountain Resort when a pack of perky pooches paid a visit.

Bernese Mountain dogs are known for their love of mountains and the snow, so it came to no surprise to see them happily bounding through the powder of the North Okanagan ski hill.

Thirteen Bernese Mountain dogs and their owners descended on SilverStar to surprise skiers, snowboarders and onlookers during their midday visit to the village.

Children and adults alike were overcome with joy being able to pat and take photos of these affectionate and loyal canines.

The video of the surprise was uploaded to SilverStar’s Facebook page and has since reached over 64,000 people in under 12 hours and has infected the locals with delight.

The surprise visit from SilverStar’s most popular visitors was a welcome to pow hounds on the hill.

“They are just the most beautiful dogs. They make me so happy. Best day ever,” said Shannon Lamontagne of Kelowna.

“Keep an eye out for other friendly four-legged friends visiting the village,” said Oscar Gordon, media and marketing specialist. “It's amazing what can happen when you bring 13 Bernese Mountain dogs into the village. They acted as some sort of magnet to everyone nearby! We’re on the scout for our next breed!”

You can purchase your SilverStar Mountain Resort Dog Pass for $15 with 100% of the proceeds going to the SPCA.
