On time and on budget

The Kal Tire Place arena expansion project is on time and on budget.

It has been almost nine months since shovels hit the ground, and the construction phase is moving rapidly.

An update was provided in a memo to the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee. "The last of seven trusses were lifted into place on Dec. 7, slightly ahead of schedule. Work on the Q-deck roofing system has been underway, while truss work was being completed. The roofing system will be installed by Dec. 22. Vapour barrier has been installed on the lower roof and is 50 per cent complete on the large roof."

The memo went on to state that the plumbing and mechanical installation was ahead of schedule; the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems have arrived; and the cutting-edge, energy efficient siding is on site, and prep work is underway to frame the outside of the building.

Work is being carried out by VVI Construction.
