Don't spend Xmas alone

Jae McDermott does not want anyone to spend Christmas alone, so he and three of his friends have organized a Christmas day dinner.

Organized by the Together For Christmas Society, the free feast will be held at the St. James Parish Centre Dec. 25.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. with dinner at 4 p.m.

“It's so no one is alone at Christmas,” said McDermott.

This year marks the ninth anniversary of the dinner that attracted 250 people last year.

“It's for everybody,” said McDermott. “Everyone is invited.”

The festivities will include entertainment, door prizes, crafts and of course, a visit from Santa.

“Everyone has a great time,” said McDermott.

And if anyone needs a ride, McDermott said to just give them a call.

“We will pick you up and take you home,” said McDermott. “We just want people to get out and have fun on Christmas day.”

Organizers of the dinner will even deliver the festive feast if the person is unable to leave their home.
