Preparing for a blizzard

The entire Okanagan could experience a significant snowstorm on Tuesday, so Castanet decided to hit the streets and ask how you prepare for a major dump of snow?

“I did some shoveling today and the snow blower is ready for tomorrow,” said one man.

“I have snow tires on my car but I love snow because I ski,” said a young woman.

“You just get your winter tires put on the vehicle and if you get good snow tires that kind of covers it,” another man said, adding he drives more cautiously in bad weather.

One man says he is prepared for a long cold winter.

“I am ready for any type of emergency,” he said. “I have four-wheel drive and a case of vodka.”

For one woman, she would rather avoid the snow all together.

“I don’t prepare for the snow,” she said. “I hate it, I curse, use bad language and hope it goes away as soon as possible.”

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Interior with up to 15 to 25 centimetres expected by early Wednesday morning before the snow tapers off to a few flurries.

Environment Canada asks the public to stay safe on the roadways and drive with extra caution.
