More slopes for pow hounds

There will be even more terrain for powder hounds to enjoy at SilverStar Mountain Resort this weekend.

The North Okanagan ski hill will be opening the Putnam Creek area of the mountain Saturday.

“The Powder Gulch Express and Home Run T will be open, as will Paradise Camp Restaurant,” said Operations Director Brad Baker.

“Conditions are really good at Putnam Creek. Temperatures have been considerable cooler on the north-facing slopes which has maintained the snow very well. Our grooming team have been out in full force and the addition of two new Pisten-bully 400s has continued our dedication for world-class grooming. Plenty of fresh corduroy to choose from including winch-groomed black diamond runs.”

Other resort openings this weekend include Paradise Camp, the restaurant located at the top of Powder Gulch, which opens for the season at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 9. SilverGrill Opens for dinner Friday Dec. 8 on the night of SilverStar’s annual Christmas Light Up with Wine Dinners commencing next Sunday Dec. 17.

Access to My1Pass winter activities are now available for the season, including skiing, snowboarding, tubing, fat biking, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing.
