Vernon's Theft From Autos Problem

Vernon RCMP are dealing with a rash of thefts from autos.

Between June 1 and 15, there have been 90 reported thefts from autos within Vernon city limits. That works out to an average of six a day.

During that same time, there have been 15 auto thefts in Vernon.

Spokesman Henry Proce says the rash of thefts from autos appears to be getting out of control in the Vernon area. He says the thieves are taking anything they can get their hands on including credit cards left in the vehicles.
