Another sunroof blows

There's been another shattering experience for a Vernon resident.

Markus Tobler said he and a friend were returning home from a trip to Radium Hot Springs Wednesday, when the sunroof on his 1998 Mercedes ML 320 shattered.

"There was no rock or anything it just shattered, causing us a bit of a scare," said Tobler.

Fortunately the inside sun shade was closed so there was no glass into the cabin.

Another Vernon resident had the same thing occur on the same day.

Student Sarah Manchester was commuting to Okanagan College in Kelowna on Wednesday when she heard a loud crash and shattered glass fell on her and a passenger.

Manchester was driving a Mazda 3 which she pulled over to the side of the road and searched for what caused the damage but nothing could be found.

ICBC is investigating both incidents.

Neither vehicle has been the subject of sunroof recalls.
