Help needed for Xmas feast

Members of the Together For Christmas Society want to make sure no one has to be alone on Christmas Day.

The group of concerned citizens is once again organizing a dinner on Dec. 25 at the St. James Parish Centre, which has donated use of the facility.

“This past year, we served 375 guests both at our tables and delivered to local 'shut-in' residents,” said Jae McDermott, society member.

“Our guests include the homeless, working poor and especially the lonely. We provide a homemade turkey dinner with all the trimmings, Christmas desserts and beverages. In addition, crafting is available for any of those that wish to participate, as well as live entertainment from when the doors open until the last guest has been served and is finished.”

To make this happen, donations of financial or product support are needed.

Organizers are encouraging local individuals, businesses, organizations and associations to do what they can to help make it a Merry Christmas for many.

For more information, McDermott can be reached at 250-308-9600 or by email at [email protected].
