Drive through serves brekkie

The United Way North Okanagan Columbia Shuswap will once again be serving up breakfast.

On Oct. 5 from 6-9 a.m., volunteers will be serving breakfast bags at the Vernon Lodge.

Linda Yule, United Way executive director, said the annual United Way Drive-Thru Breakfast attracts hundreds of people.

“You will get a bag stuffed full of goodies that will last you through the day and probably into the next day,” said Yule. “There is also something for your four-legged friends.”

The bags are by donation with all of the proceeds going to the United Way which supports 21 groups in the region.

“We support programs for kids, families, nutrition programs so they have the skills to feed their family, seniors programs and programs for people with diversabilities,” she said.

All of the items in the bags are donated – including the prizes - and along with handing out the bags, a small army of volunteers will be washing windows and serving Tim Hortons coffee.

Yule said people can use both entrances to the Lodge to get their brekkies.
