Greater Vernon Water in consultation with the Interior Health Region advises that the BOIL WATER ADVISORY in effect for all Duteau Creek water users in the Greater Vernon area is now lifted.
At approximately 4:30 pm Sunday, May 30th, the turbidity or cloudiness of Duteau Creek rose reducing the effectiveness of the chlorination treatment system.
Duteau Creek has now cleared itself and proper disinfection has been re-established.
Bacterial testing of the water distribution system indicates that the water system is now safe.
Customers in the affected area are encouraged to run their taps for 5 minutes to flush their household system.
