Body found by road

UPDATE 4:35 P.M.

The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit and BC Coroners Service are investigating the discovery of a body in the Silver Star Road area early Thursday morning.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said on Thursday, March 23 at 07:24 a.m., RCMP were called to a report of a body found near the intersection of Wilson Jackson Road and Jordashe Road.

“Following the initial examination of the scene, the death of the individual has been classified as suspicious in nature. Investigators from the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit are currently on scene and are continuing the investigation,” said Moskaluk, adding no further information regarding this matter is being released at this time.


Vernon RCMP have blocked off Wilson Jackson Road on Silver Star Mountain.

Three police vehicles and an ambulance were at the scene and several evidence markers were seen on the ground.

There are no homes in the immediate area.

Wilson Jackson Road connects to Keddleston Road which leads off of Silver Star Road. The road was closed several kilometres from the T-intersection with Melford Road.

Police have not released any details on the situation at this time.
