Mailbox goes missing

It's big, it's red, it's heavy and it's missing.

Vernon RCMP are on the lookout for whoever carried off a Canada Post mailbox.

Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy said police would like to speak to anyone “who might have seen someone stealing a large red Canada Post mailbox from the corner of Kickwillie Loop and Westkal Road in Coldstream some time between March 19 and the morning of March 20.

“This is an area where people frequently park to access the Okanagan Rail Trail.”

The missing box is a street letter box where people can deposit mail for pickup.

Anyone who has information on this crime, or knows the location of the mailbox, is asked to call the police at 250-545-7171 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
