The Lumby-Mabel Lake Snowmobile Association will be hosting it’s annual club appreciation day next weekend.
Safety demonstrations and lessons will be available as will a mini track and sleds for children.
The event takes place on Sunday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. approximate seven and a half kilometres up Squaw Valley Road in Lumby.
“This year we decided to focus on making this a family event, and getting the children to enjoy snowmobiling safely,” said Tom Luszcz, club’s president. “Snowmobiling is becoming easier and more accessible, we want to make sure it remains a fun and safe activity for everyone who enjoys the backcountry.”
Mini sleds will be on hand for the kids to try although families are welcome to bring their own to test out the track.
