'Tis the season to shop

For some unique Christmas ideas, look no further than the Shoparama Holiday Gift Sale.

Taking place at the Vernon recreation auditorium and gymnasium, the 14th annual event will carry on until 5 p.m. today.

Ingrid Baron, event organizer, said there are 100 booths set up featuring everything from Epicure and Watkins products to a bevy of home-made items.

“Probably half of it is artisan and crafters,” said Baron Sunday. “If you are looking for that special something, this is a great place to find it.

“There is lots of great stuff here. Wear comfortable shoes because it takes a while to go through everything.”

Admission is free, but donations to the Salvation Army food bank are being accepted.

“We also give them a $1,200 donation,” said Baron.
