There was brisk business at the Vernon Winter Carnival office on Friday morning as tickets went on sale for events.
About a dozen stalwarts who stood outside the office ahead of the 9 a.m. opening were almost all waiting to buy Suds and Cider tickets, the event that always seems to sell out first.
“It's the best event in Winter Carnival,” said Nalon Cline, who bought the maximum six tickets.
Cline said she has been attending Suds and Cider for 20 years with a group of about two dozen people.
Close to 100 events will be held during next year's carnival, organizers say runds runs Feb. 3 to 12.
Carnival buttons and Jopo raffle tickets were also being sold at the office Friday.
Anyone interested in buying tickets can go to the Carnival office at 3401 35th Avenue (behind the Rec centre), online and by phoning 250-545-2236. The Carnival office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. The office will also be open on Saturdays starting in January.
