Rollovers in N. Okanagan

Two separate vehicle rollovers sent people to Vernon Jubilee Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

In one, Highway 6 was closed for a time between Lumby and Cherryville while emergency crews responded to a call around 3 p.m.

A female driver was sent to hospital with undetermined injuries but was conscious, said Lumby Fire Chief Tony Clayton.

"I have to thank bystanders who took care of the woman until an ambulance crew arrived," said Clayton. "They made sure she was warm and comfortable."

Lumby RCMP confirm they are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

In Vernon, RCMP are also investigating after a one-vehicle crash on the 9100 block of Mission Road around 2 p.m. left two people injured.

"Speed may have been a factor," said captain Brent Bond of Vernon Fire Rescue.

Bond said the vehicle left the road and "rolled and rolled" into an open field.

Both male occupants of the Kia were transported to hospital with injuries, he said.
