UPDATE: 5:50 p.m.
Vernon firefighters wearing breathing apparatus doused a motor home fire on the 2200 block of Kalamalka Lake Road on Saturday afternoon.
Crews were called to the scene at 3:48 p.m., according to fire captain Darren Cecchini of Vernon Fire Rescue.
"The owner of the motor home was working on removing something when he cut a propane line with a grinder," Cecchini explained.
The motor home was destroyed, Cecchini said.
Witnesses are reporting a fire burning in the vicinity of in Vernon.
Teri Granley said she was just finishing up a round of golf at the Vernon Golf and Country Club when she looked down and could see a big plume of black smoke.
She was unsure what was burning but said the fire department and RCMP were on scene.
