Breakfast for a cause

Don't feel like making breakfast this morning?

Not a problem.

The United Way North Okanagan will be holding its annual Drive-Thru Breakfast today from 6-9 a.m. at the Vernon Atrium Hotel.

“We have been reviewing community priorities in the towns and cities that we support and we are convinced that in order to move the needle on poverty and social fabric related issues we need invest more,” says Linda Yule, executive director, United Way North Okanagan Columbia Shuswap. “But we need your help to ensure we can meet these commitments on behalf of the community.”

Funds raised at events such as the Drive-Thru Breakfast and workplace giving programs are invested back into the community and assist community partners with providing services that are vital to children, families, seniors and those facing challenges.

The bag breakfasts are by donation and people are encouraged to walk, ride or drive to the event.

Local dignitaries will be on hand to wash car windows, serve Tim Hortons coffee and hand out breakfast bags.
