Bear near Alexis Park Drive

Amanda Linz was surprised to see an unexpected visitor in her neighbourhood Monday afternoon - a black bear.

Linz posted a picture of the bruin running through a residential neighbourhood in the Alexis Park area at around 3:30 p.m.

“I've never seen that before,” said Linz who lives on Hawthorn Lane near the intersection of 35th Avenue and 38th Street.

“It's just off Alexis Park Drive about a block,” said Linz. “I saw him running along a fence.”
Linz said the bear then ran off, but she is not sure to where.

Keisha Pochay, who also posted a picture of the bear, said she saw it running toward the open hills behind 35th Avenue.
