Party time at the IPE

The 117th annual Interior Provincial Exhibition kicked off Wednesday for five days of family fun.

The event is expected to draw some 150,000 people and proudly features its agricultural roots.

Farm animals of all variety can be found at the fair, with numerous competitions taking place to see who has the best livestock.

On Saturday the popular parade kicks off at 10 a.m. sharp and will wind its way through the city centre.

Also held on the IPE grounds every evening is the Wrangler Pro Rodeo Tour.

The rodeo features the best cowpokes in the country who will be competing in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and the fan favourite bull riding.

There will also be steer wrestling, team roping and other timed events.

Throughout the IPE is one of the largest midways in B.C.

West Coast Amusements has set up numerous rides and games.

The food fair features tasty treats from the four corners of the earth and dozens of vendors are on hand with everything from T-shirts to tractors.
