Two slashed in attack

A stabbing in Vernon over the weekend sent two men to hospital, RCMP report.

On Sunday, Aug. 28, at around 9:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the downtown area.

“On RCMP and BCAS arrival, investigators located two men that had suffered stab wounds, who stated that they were stabbed during an altercation with another male,” said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. “The altercation was said to have taken place at the intersection of 37th Avenue and 31st Street in Vernon.”

Police did not say if the victims and assailant were known to each other.

Both injured males were transported to hospital for treatment.

“One male suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and the second male's injuries were less severe. The men stated that the suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival,” said Moskaluk.

The suspect was described as a white male with a Fu Manchu style moustache and weighing approximately 160 lb., wearing a black fitted hat and a tank top.
