Favourite apple out early

They are already picking honey crisp apples out at Davison Orchards in Vernon.

"They are definitely early this year. They are three to four weeks ahead of last year," said Shane Landreville of Davison's. "Typically, we'd start picking well into September."

The farm has posted a mouth-watering, time lapse video on its Facebook page celebrating the first pick of the season – showing a honey crisp grow from bud to fruit.

"They're amazing. It's everyone's favourite apple for a reason," said Landreville. "They have so much flavour and are very crisp."
