Coldstream power on

UPDATE: 11:20 a.m.

A bird landing on a line in the Kidston area sparked a widespread power outage in Coldstream Wednesday morning, according to B.C. Hydro spokesman Dag Sharman. 

Power was restored shortly before 11 a.m., Sharman said.

A widespread power outage is affecting much of Coldstream.

The power went out around 9:30 a.m., according to the B.C. Hydro website.

A total of 2,277 customers are affected.

Hydro spokesperson Dag Sharman says the power tripped at a substation and that crews are investigating the line.

The biggest area without power is south of Pottery Road, west of Buchanan Road, North of Cosens Bay Road and east of College Drive.
