Chamber adds director

The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce has a new director on its board.

Ben Robinson, a business banking advisor with Valley First Credit Union, will take on the new role immediately.

Robinson’s financial background will be an asset to the board as the chamber grows and develops new programs to better serve members and the area’s business community, according to chamber president Tracy Cobb-Reeves.

An Okanagan College graduate with a diploma in Financial Services, Robinson is currently working on a Bachelors' degree in Business Administration.
“Ben’s enthusiasm for business combined with his community involvement makes him a great fit for the Chamber and we look forward to his contributions,” said Cobb-Reeves.

“I have been impressed with the work of the Chamber and excited as a volunteer to join the board and help our members grow and prosper,” said Robinson. “I’m eager to work with chamber members and the business community to help make Vernon the best place to live and do business in the Okanagan.”

As an appointee, Ben will serve on the board until the end of the current year, but will be eligible to run again in the elections held as part of the Chamber’s annual general meeting in October.
