Predator Ridge rodeo

--By Gary Moore

Predator Ridge's first rodeo, celebrating the Vernon golf course's 25th anniversary, took place on Saturday.

Hundreds packed the grounds at Lone Pine Ranch to take in the ground-breaking rodeo and other western-style activities.

"There are so many activities for kids, from pony rides to gold panning and a beer garden for the adults," said Brad Pelletier, vice president with Predator Ridge.  "I love the absolute uniqueness of this event, it's a perfect theme because it allows us to be a little imperfect.

The whole nature of rodeo is a little dusty, dirty, sweaty and it's worked out perfectly."

Around the pen bull riders from different corners of the globe prepared for a bumpy ride.

World champion bull rider Cody Snyder was on hand to help the the event run smoothly and was excited by the prospect of mixing rodeo and golf.

"It's the first time ever in history that I know of that a bull riding event has ever taken place on or near a golf course like this," Snyder said.
