A TV-movie production company has found a studio in Vernon and will be shooting a project in the building starting in mid-July.
“This is a huge deal for us,” said Jon Summerland, Okanagan Film Commissioner.
The prairie-based movie company will be using the former Far West Industries building, 1701 Kosmina Rd. as a studio, according to Summerland.
However, the film commissioner was cagey about the name of the company and its plans for the huge building which sits upon a four-acre lot, explaining the firm didn't want a lot of publicity at this time.
“It's being used as a studio, but it requires a lot of work,” Summerland said.
“There are bulkheads and holes that have to be filled but they are going to shoot around the bulkheads. It's going to be great.”
