Pot on stove catches fire

A pot left on a stove had Coldstream fire crews scrambling, Sunday.

Fire chief Dave Sturgeon said crews were called to the 500 block of Middleton Way just after 4 p.m., when a homeowner returned home and found the building full of smoke.

“A pot on the stove was flaming over,” said Sturgeon. “It burned a bit around the stove, and there was lots of smoke damage.”

Because of the heavy smoke, the homeowners had to spend the night elsewhere.

A restoration company was called in to clean up the mess.
