When Vernon photographer Wayne Emde headed into his back yard Sunday afternoon, he was surprised to discover a young black bear feasting at his cherry tree.
"I went into the house to get my camera and when I came out, he had climbed the tree. Traffic along Kickwillie Loop Road came to a stop as drivers spotted him," said Emde.
After eating his fill from the Coldstream tree, the bear wandered out of the yard and when last seen making his way towards Highway 97.
