Vernon RCMP say the body of a local man in his early 30s was recovered from the Grey Canal trail, on Turtle Mountain, Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at 4:20 p.m. after some hikers spotted the body of a male on the trail, said Cpl. Spencer Hornoi.
First responders used CPR on the man for some time before he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The coroner was also called in.
The man was found at the foot of the “tallest, steepest spot” on the trail, about 300 metres in from Turtle Mountain Boulevard, said Hornoi, adding that the victim had fallen from the cliff.
