A small brush fire near BX Falls in Greater Vernon was brought quickly under control by firefighters Friday evening.
“A crew is still out there,” said deputy chief Steve Hidasi of the BX-Swan Lake fire department. “It's not huge...It appears to be under control.”
Hidasi said the fire started around 6:30 p.m. near a parking area.
“The public shouldn't be concerned but they should be fire smart,” added Hidasi.
He said the blaze may have had a mechanical start but that is not certain at this time.
