A dad's heartfelt thanks

The father of a Lake Country man seriously injured in a crash near Armstrong wants to thank the men who saved his life.

Scott Beaudoin, 46, was injured in a two vehicle crash at Highway 97A and McLeod Road on the morning of May 5.

The vehicle caught fire almost immediately.

Ted Beaudoin contacted Castanet from his home in Ontario. He said his son and mother were in the vehicle at the time.

He said Scott told his mother to get out, but was unable to do so himself.

"Three gentlemen pulled him out of the car while it was burning. I'm so grateful for their intervention because without it, he would be dead," said Ted Beaudoin.

He wants to find the three men to thank them and to nominate them for a Canadian bravery medal.

"I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for everybody that was involved – fire department, medical services and these three gentlemen who pulled him out while it was burning."

Ted Beaudoin said his son is recovering back home in Lake Country.

"I'm going to thank the medical staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for all the good work they did. They gave him what amounts to plates and pins in his right hand, and apparently plates and pins in his left knee and pins and plates in his left kneecap."
