A 10-year-old Vernon boy sustained minor injuries Wednesday night after his bike hit a vehicle on the 2500 block of 32nd Avenue.
“Vernon Fire Rescue was called at 19:28 for a car-versus-bicycle,” said Fire Chief Keith Green. “Our guys found a 10-year-old boy sitting on the curb.
“He sustained minor injuries to to his left leg and arm.”
Green said the boy was wearing a helmet and BMX gear, and told the crew he was OK.
The boy also told them he had been pedalling on the sidewalk.
A recent release from the City of Vernon's bylaw department states: “cyclists are not allowed to ride on sidewalks.”
