It's no surprise, but Vernon city council has made it official – a number of old buildings in the downtown are coming down to make way for parking.
Council has released information showing the former New Dehli restaurant at 2905 29th St. and the Open Door Learning centre, located next door, have been ordered demolished this summer.
Work won't begin until Aug. 1 in order to give School District 22's learning centre time to relocate.
The two areas will be turned into interim parking lots with some landscaping, information shows.
