Murder suspect under alias

A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for his connection to the 2011 homicide of an Edmonton man was arrested in Chase on Monday.

Gordon Shaw, 61, was charged with second-degree murder in August 2011 for the May 2011 death of Robert Anderson, 70.

Shaw failed to attend court on Sept. 9, 2014, and a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

Persistent work by the Edmonton Homicide Section led police to believe Shaw was living in Chase, under the alias “Bob Stenton.”

Further investigation revealed the accused had advertised himself as handyman “Bob the Builder” in the local newspaper.

Shaw was arrested without incident by Kelowna RCMP on Monday.

He appeared in Kamloops court on Tuesday and was remanded into custody.

Shaw will be transferred to Edmonton where he will await trial in the Court of Queen’s Bench.
