Rural plan under review

The official community plan for Electoral Area F is under review.

The current plan was adopted in 2005. Staff at the North Okanagan Regional District say an update is necessary due to changes in provincial legislation, the adoption of the districts' regional growth strategy and the Kingfisher local area plan.

An updated plan will guide local government decisions regarding development, infrastructure, services, social and environmental issues for the rural communities of Electoral Area F, including Grindrod, Grandview Bench, Mara, Ashton Creek, Kingfisher/Mabel Lake and Twin Lakes.

Following consultations over past year, a draft of an updated OCP is now available for the public to review and comment. Feedback forms are available on the district's website, while print copies are available at the RDNO office and the Enderby branch of the Okanagan Regional Library. 

Two public houses will be held:

• Tuesday, Mar. 15, 4-7 p.m. at the Grindrod Community Hall, 6920 Highway 97a
• Wednesday, Mar. 16, 4-7 p.m. at the Riverside Community Hall, 3784 Trinity Valley Road, east of Enderby.

Information gathered at this stage will be reviewed and reported to the board for their consideration at an upcoming regular meeting.
