Chili's a hit at Carnival

UPDATE: 2:14 p.m.

There was a long line at the Naked Pig Barbecue and Smokehouse in Vernon Saturday as people waited their turn for a taste of chili. Other restaurants and venues had small crowds huddled outside.

A number of locations have been serving up small portions at the Downtown Chili Cook Off, part of Winter Carnival.

Nine competitors have made 14 different chili recipes, with some competitors entering two chilis.

Competing for the title of best chili in 2016 are Earls, EATology, Grillers Meats, The Kal Sports Bar, Marten Brew Pub, The Naked Pig, Pooh's & Beans, Station BBQ and The Sprouted Fig.
