She's Vernon's reigning queen for the next year.
Madison Catt was named Queen Silver Star LVI at Thursday evening's proclamation and coronation at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre.
Catt, 16, is a grade 11 student at Clarence Fulton Secondary School. She was representing Paradigm Naturopathic.
Departing princess Hannah Vaz placed the crown on Catt's head as the outgoing queen Alicia Hill-Turner was off for a scholarship interview in Toronto.
The other new royal member is Sneha Suniara who was selected Princess Silver Star. Suniara, also 16 and from Fulton, represented Gareb Holdings Ltd.
Jenna Smith, 17 and in grade 12 at WL Seaton Secondary, was selected as Miss Congeniality.
The pageant is a Vernon tradition going back 56 years. Seven teenage girls took part in this year's event.
